Families First New York and Our Affiliates
Families First New York represents the alliance of four independent nonprofits -- the Family Partnership Center, Hudson Valley Mental Health, Family Services, Inc., and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ulster County. These organizations have come together to leverage resources, achieve economies of scale, and enhance their management, governance, and administrative capacity. Families First facilitates their work and helps them to build sustainable, long-term, collaborative relationships that improve how they function as organizations. Through their connection to Families First, these organizations work together to accomplish goals that alone would be more difficult (or impossible) to achieve. Our key activities include consolidated business functions, joint purchasing and insurance procurement programs, the implementation of information systems, and sharing of best practices to improve the quality of services.
Of course, collaboration is never simple and demands a high level of flexibility and innovative thinking. As Families First works to strengthen ways in which our four affiliates and other nonprofits work together, we will continue to evolve in order to meet the needs of those we serve.
